Devolution funds playing a critical role thanks to Second Republic's visionary leadership: Minister Ncube

By Margaret Kamba

Devolution funds are enabling the development of local communities, thanks to the visionary leadership, says Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution Cde Owen Ncube.

He said this while handing over equipment and a mobile clinic to the Vungu Rural District Council.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Cde Ncube said acknowledgement of the efforts by the Second Republic must be done as the fruits are evident for people to see.

"We are gathered here today to commission the Vungu Rural District Council's Road equipment and mobile clinic confirming the tangible results of the Second Republic's commitment to improve service delivery by our local authorities in the Midlands Province," Minister Ncube said.

"Allow me to acknowledge the exceptional efforts of the Second Republic under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, the President of the Republic Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa of providing necessary funding through the disbursement of devolution funds to our local authorities. These funds have played a critical role in enabling local authorities such as Vungu Rural District Council to implement various key projects that directly benefit our rural communities."

Many projects have been launched in the Midlands Province among them the Presidential Inputs Scheme, in a move that is aimed at attaining vision 2030.
