BAAS CLOCKS ONE YEAR OUTSIDE US EMBASSY

By Margaret KambaBroad Alliance Against Sanctions BAAS has clocked one year living under squalid conditions outside the American Embassy in Zimbabwe, in a move aimed at getting the illegal sanctions imposed on the country unconditionally removed. The illegal sanctions were imposed on Zimbabwe after the country embarked on the Land Reform Programmes which witnessed many landless black majority inherit their God given resource. The illegal sanctions have seen an altered life for virtually every citizen including the MDC which called for the illegal sanctions in the hope of piling pressure on ZANU PF to relinquish power.BAAS Co-founder Sally Ngoni said the year long journey has not been easy."It has not been easy leaving everything behind, coming to demonstrate against the heinous sanctions imposed on our motherland Zimbabwe but we shall continue fighting peacefully until sanctions are removed unconditionally," Cde Ngoni said."We are still camped at the Embassy and during this lockdown period we shall continue with our vigil and we urge those at home to remain there until the 21 day lock down period is over." We continue to pray for all Zimbabweans and the rest of the world during this trying time of COVID19 and may the Lord almighty protect us all. We thank those who have supported us from the time we started the vigil to today."Your unwavering support is greatly appreciated and will always be appreciated until we achieve our endeavors."
